Yellowdot is a young design studio that brings together Bodin Hon, and Dilara Kan. Both met while studying at the Istituti Europeo Di Design in Milan, and they share an appetite for combining technology and craftsmanship in a wide variety of creations, utilizing here the transparency of the eggshell for a screen; there, playing on the contrast of a sculptural marble table, whose top turns with a disconcerting lightness. At their Greenhouse booth at the Stockholm Furniture Fair, they presented their new collection of 3D printed Lattice lighting fixtures. For this mini-series inspired by the neon lights and skyscrapers of Hong Kong, the ingenuity is to have found the technique to design this “lattice” of thermoplastic filaments of PLA, biosourced. A duo to follow.
