Quentin Lepetit, Web design and fintech approach

After graduating from the École nationale supérieure de création industrielle (ENSCi), Quentin Lepetit worked as a product designer, graphic designer and web designer. Today, he is fully dedicated to Retreeb, which he co-founded, is supported by France Innovation and incubated at Station F and The Garage. The Retreeb service aims to create an independent payment network (by QR code and smartphone, then by contactless payment card), whose main mission is to redistribute a third of the interbank commission, taken from the merchant at the time of purchase, to a social or environmental project, located on a local, national or international scale.

If Retreeb ensures the proper monitoring of this redistribution, via a highly secure blockchain system, it is the consumer-user who chooses the destination of this commission, usually taken for the sole benefit of the behemoths Visa and Mastercard, and which will be able to contribute positively to major issues (inequality, poverty, pollution, education, malnutrition, etc.). To do this, the user uses an application in which, obviously, web design plays a major role. But more broadly, the design, its work and thinking have a great impact on the overall design of the Retreeb service. Concretely, Retreeb is a start-up, more precisely a fintech, working in the technological finance sector. Its particularity is to have been co-founded by a designer, Quentin Lepetit, thus contributing to the fact that design is one of the key elements of the company, which is rare in the current French entrepreneurial field.
