Paris Design Week 2021 under the sign of desirable development

From September 9 to 18, in parallel with Maison & Objet at the Villepinte Exhibition Center, the capital will vibrate to the rhythm of Paris Design Week. An edition that promises to be very dynamic, and whose various exhibitions will complement the theme of the show: “Desirable development”.

At the event launch party, Vincent Grégoire, Creative Director at NellyRodi, expressed himself as follows: “ 2020 was the year of guilt, 2021[est celle] resilience, 2022[sera celle] hypersensitivity. “ In the light of this synthesis, we can imagine the enthusiasm that will animate design week. Distributed in more than 200 addresses to discover, emerging talents and renowned houses, young graduates and museum institutions, publishers who are launching themselves, creative craftsmen with inspired hands will share, according to the organizers, “An art of living in harmony with nature, which knows how to take advantage of technology to get closer – sometimes virtually -, while calling on traditional know-how, which, like witnesses of the passage of time, is passed down from generation to generation in generation. Desirable Development is this subtle and much sought-after balance that puts us on the path to Renewal without diktat ”.

Among the highlights, we will see exhibitions that promise the discovery of beautiful nuggets at the Paris Design Factory, which will be at the Galerie Joseph Froissart, at the Galerie Joseph, rue de Turenne, as well as at the Espace Commines. We will also note the first participation of the Campus des Métiers d’Art & Design, which will invest the Sorbonne with “Vivement Tomorrow”.

In terms of showrooms and boutiques, this will be an opportunity for educators to show off their new ranges, including a taste of the collections revealed in Milan.

Meet at Café Intramuros

Intramuros will, of course, be a stakeholder in the event, both at Maison & Objet, and with its ephemeral café in the Galerie Joseph at 116 rue de Turenne, a meeting place where it will be possible to chill, network. The public will be able to attend in the dedicated space – within the limits of available places – a dozen talks on the theme “sustainability and desirability” organized and moderated by Intramuros in partnership with Paris Design Week which will then be broadcast online. As last year, it will also be possible to meet the editorial staff by appointment. The scenography will offer the opportunity to take the time to relax in VITRA seats, and to tread a creation of IVC, both official partners of this Café Intramuros. In the same space, a concept store will allow you to discover a selection of the editorial staff’s favorite creations… and why not, to let yourself be seduced and to leave with them!
