The Czech lighting brand Lasvit will be present at the Euroluce trade show from April 18 to 23 in Milan to present its new products, including the Miles collection, designed by the duo Yabu Pushelberg.
For this new edition of EuroLuce, the international trade show dedicated to lighting, Lasvit is among the 450 exhibitors gathered to unveil its 2023 novelties. Among them, the Miles collection of lights, designed by Yabu Pushelberg (see Intramuros portrait 215), inspired by the many parallels between music and glassblowing.
Un jeu d’équilibre et de rythme
Sur le plan formel, il y a un clin d’œil évident aux instruments cuivres, qui fait référence aux souffleurs de verre. Pour autant, ce qui est moins évident, c’est l’équilibre constant qui doit être maintenu lorsque l’on pousse la fabrication du verre à sa limite, qui doit prendre en compte l’innovation et les contraintes physiques du matériau et des techniques. Dans cette collection, des boîtiers extérieurs simples permettent d’abriter les formes de corne courbes et élégamment cannelées à l’intérieur. Une fois empilées, elles deviennent une sculpture lumineuse rythmée, qui attire l’attention tout en s’harmonisant avec n’importe quel environnement.

Other novelties imagined by Maxim Velčovský, LLEV, Martin Gallo, the Campana brothers and David Rockwell are also unveiled at the Lasvit stand, on a set design by Matěj Janský and Cyril Dunděra.
