Milan 2022: Temenos, a Studiopepe x Galerie Philia project

For Milan Design Week, Studiopepe collaborated with Galerie Philia and exclusively presents its new collection of design objects. Pieces exhibited as part of an installation entitled Temenos, to be discovered in a space of 200 square meters, invests especially for the occasion, in the district of Baranzante.

Design agency based in Milan, Studiopepe was created in 2006 by Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto. Strongly focused on creation and research, Studiopepe puts forward a multidisciplinary approach encompassing architecture, interior design, product design and creative direction. Concerning the Philia Gallery, it was founded in 2015 by two brothers and has given itself the mission of supporting young emerging or established artists and designers, approaching a marked transcultural approach and a certain interest in literature and philosophy. It has agencies in Geneva, New York and Singapore, and organizes exhibitions in its permanent spaces, but also in original places around the world, as evidenced by the collaboration with Studiopepe.

Thus, each piece in the collection bears the name of the nine archetypal entities of the Egyptian cosmogony. Among the flagship lots of the collection are the Tefnut coffee table, characterized by a slightly hollowed top and assembled with brown onyx plates on several levels, and the Temu concrete lamp. The duo also presents a set of chairs made of burnt wood, Geb and Nut, symbol of Studiopepe’s eccentricity. Not forgetting their attachment to experimentation and the marriage of different materials, they also present the Nefti candlestick and the Seth & Sekhmet vases, made of natural materials, based on mixtures of stones, and respectful of the environment. “This installation, designed in close collaboration with Philia Gallery, explores the concept of the sacred in all its anthropological and historical complexity and the pieces in this collection are full of the symbols that objects and furniture have taken on throughout history. » also told Studiopepe about this collection.
