Change of periods, change of date: the health crisis was invited in the transformation of a show which has been looking for a new dynamic for several years. Maison & Objet will be held not in January but from March 26 to 30 at the Parc des Expositions, in continuity with an online presence … and accompanied by a tour of the city. A daring bet given the possible proximity of the Milanese high mass anticipated in June?
If the international health context has upset the calendar of exhibitions around the world, everyone is looking online to maintain contact with their community of exhibitors and visitors. Maison & Objet in September thus relied on its digital platform MOM (Maison & Objet and More).
Following the first Digital Fair in September 2020 which brought together 4,292 brands and nearly 215,000 unique international visitors, several online studies and consultations were carried out with more than 500 professionals (brands, buyers, specifiers), allowing teams to Maison & Objet to define the current expectations of the markets and to design the proposals most suited to an unprecedented context.
First of all, it emerges that the decoration sectors are much less impacted than other activities, or even boosted by new uses: work is exported sustainably outside the company and consumers are just as keen to imagine new functional arrangements that redefine the comfort of their private spaces. Professionals then express their need to meet physically, to diversify their inspirations, to touch the materials, to understand the colors, to discover the new collections of their suppliers and to meet new ones.
Une édition de Maison & Objet au printemps précédée par des temps on line
Maison & Objet has decided to maintain online and physical appointments throughout the first quarter of 2021 which will end with a return to Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Center from March 26 to 30, 2021.
In short, Maison & Objet will deploy a complete system between January and March 2021 with offers adapted to different expectations and to the current context:
– A series of sectoral and thematic Digital Fairs,
– A physical fair from March 26 to 30, 2021 whose format will be increased by the creation of multimedia content allowing a stronger digital presence of exhibitors to amplify the impact of their participation and extend the post-show experience,
– An off course in Paris, at the same time as the show, in order to allow brands who so wish to present their collections in a showroom or in the form of a pop-up.
