After “Horizons”, the duo Marie and Alexandre continue their cycle of exhibitions with a new chapter, entitled “Iris”, which extends their exploration of ceramics. Inaugurated during “Maison & Objet in the City”, this proposal, still astonishing, is to be discovered at the Signé gallery, until February 25, 2023.
Respectively graduates of a bachelor’s degree in industrial and product design at ECAL and a design degree at ENSCI, Marie and Alexandre met while participating in the Design Parade in 2018. In the continuity of “Horizon” presented a few months before, the duo has once again called on the Signé gallery to exhibit a new exploration in a game of balance and reflection. Located in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and founded by Maxime Bouzidi in 2021, the young gallery Signé has the ambition to support a young generation of designers, architects or decorators, around creations that oscillate between art and design.

Iris
An exhibition to live as an experience
Pieces posed, suspended, sometimes at the limit of levitation… this exhibition plays with the play of mirrors to draw a multidimensional landscape in space. Each piece thus offers a visual experience of the material, both as an element of junction, of flow, at times enhanced, and on other pieces, totally integrated into the device. Very much turned towards craftsmanship and the exploration of materials, the duo does not hesitate to make visible the play of structures, even of bones, of extremely refined and minimal pieces. He sublimates, in this sober exposure, the magnificent work of cast glass and enamelled lava made at the Alain Vagh tile factory in Draguignan, in a red earth from Salernes. A proposal where geometry does not prevail over poetry, at the crossroads of sculpture, design and architecture.
To be discovered until February 25 at the Signé gallery, 33 rue Bonaparte, 75006 Paris.
