Ingo Maurer’s new luminaires

At the Euroluce trade show in Milan in April, Ingo Maurer presented his new products in an original lighting installation. A return that also marks the company’s rebirth after the death of Ingo Maurer in 2019.

The lighting manufacturer made its comeback in a new location created for the event, with additional exhibition space. The Porta Nuova, a large arch made up of two adjacent buildings, standing on its own island of greenery, became the setting for Ingo Maurer’s grand entrance.

Playing with colors

A 30-metre-long carpet, painted in striking fluorescent colors, was stretched across the arch, with a reflective surface above it, supported by a rope flying over the floor, stretched at a height of three to five metres. The surface addressed the colors and light of the environment, while reflecting its own interpretation, leaving the visitor with the impression that not only the floor, but also the ceiling, is covered in color.
