Grand Prix de la Création: last days to apply!

The Grands Prix de la Création de la ville de Paris reward talents from the world of fashion, design and crafts. A novelty this year: the awarding of a seventh prize dedicated to fashion accessories. Only two weeks left to submit an application; applications are open until May 15.

Created in 2003, the Grands Prix de la Création de la ville de Paris are intended to reward professionals from the fashion, design and fine crafts sectors. In each category – fashion, arts and crafts, design – two prizes are awarded:
  • The Grand Prix, which rewards a professional for the quality of his project and his career, his development strategy and for his commitment to the transmission of know-how and innovations. This award is specifically addressed to experienced professionals and brands with advanced development.
  • The Emerging Talent Prize, which, unlike the first, rewards a professional without significant experience, but whose project is promising.

For this new edition, the city of Paris will award a 7th prize, the Fashion Accessory Prize, which will distinguish an emerging or established accessories project (leather goods, shoes, gloves, belts, etc.). A prize awarded in partnership with ADC – Beyond Leather.

For this new edition, the presidency of the Grands Prix has been entrusted to François Azambourg for design, to Christine Phung for fashion and to Ludovic Avenal for crafts.

The conditions of participation in the Grands Prix de la Création

To participate, the candidate must meet several conditions:
  • Be a creator evolving in the sectors of design, fashion and fine crafts, for at least one year on the date of registration for the competition
  • Be over 18 years old
  • It is only possible to register in one of the three competing disciplines
  • A winner of one of the previous editions, or during another competition in the year which preceded cannot present itself. In the same way, the projects presented by the candidates must not have been rewarded during another competition, French or international.

What rewards?

Each winner will be awarded an endowment of 18,000 euros. 8,000 euros come from the City of Paris while the rest of the sum is enriched via the Fund for the Ateliers de Paris by private partners (the French Federation of Women’s Ready-to-Wear, ADC, the Galeries Lafayette Group, the Rémy Foundation Cointreau, ESMOD, Roger Pradier, Victoire, and the Galia Group).
In addition to this financial reward, the winners benefit from the visibility offered by the media partners and associates.
