It was during the French Design 100 awards ceremony organized in the village hall of the Elysée Palace that Emmanuel Macron hailed the tricolor creation.
For this second edition of the FD 100, 100 winners, selected by an international jury of 17 members, represent design, interior decoration and architecture. During his speech, Bernard Reybier, president of French Design by VIA, celebrated the influence of space and object design internationally, citing in particular impressive figures. French creation is, I quote, ” a hymn to life! “. Hervé Lemoine, director of Mobilier national and president of the jury, highlighted the policy of reconciliation between design and craftsmanship and welcomed the role of ambassador played by his department attached to the Ministry of Culture.
It was a relaxed President of the Republic, hand in his pocket, who began his speech by indicating that “ French design is a difficult discipline to define” . Emmanuel Macron has the merit of knowing his classics, citing in particular certain orders placed with designers and artists. He concluded on a high note:the disease of Europe is weariness, and everyday life reinvents itself through beauty and the renewal of the senses, and this is the political role of the designer. The magic of design is essential!”
The 100 winners will be unveiled throughout January in a “digital festival” on the French Design social networks.
