Eco-design, extension of the lifespan of products, reuse of materials, repairs, the players in furniture and fittings must learn to design differently and reduce their environmental footprint: this is the objective of the program ” Circular booster ”. Building on the success of the 1st edition, a new call for applications is launched until January 29 to recruit 20 furniture producers and fitters. Driven by the association Canals and the Valdelia eco-organization, in partnership with Camif and with the support of Ameublement Français, Sicoval and FCBA, the system supports them to design, mass produce and market these exemplary products from an environmental point of view. .
For 18 months, 20 structures will benefit from full support. Like tables made from recovered window joinery, decommissioned parchment paper lighting, old CRS barriers transformed into a sofa …, under the direction of the 5.5 design studio, it will be a question of developing a model cabinet in economy circular that can be mass produced. To achieve this, companies will participate in training, collective workshops and individual coaching sessions provided by experts. Final objective: to market these products through public and private markets. For this second edition, a “capsule collection” intended for individuals will be developed and sold on the Camif platform.
This large-scale program mobilizes all the players in the sector, throughout France. This second edition will be particularly anchored in Occitania, with a target of 50% of supported Occitan structures.
