Radicality may have been the theme of this first edition of neo Designer’s Days, but it was interpreted very differently by the 19 showrooms on the Left Bank. The scenography reflected the history of the brands, some too subtle for the uninitiated, others highly imaginative and realistic.
In the top 3 of our favorites, we salute the Cassina storefront, which didn’t hesitate to cover these iconic pieces with a Dripping-style textile created for the occasion. Dressed from head to toe, the showcase won over its public. On the other side of the boulevard, Roche-Bobois caught our eye. The brand presented Zéphyrus and Polygonia by Giacomo Garziano, colorful furniture-sculptures in futuristic shapes.
Staged in a décor created by origami artist Clotilde Gries, the dedicated space became a space-time setting during the 4-day festival. It was at USM that the adjective “radical” came to make sense in terms of fundamentality. USM has combined architecture and furniture to create a small loft, inspired by the DNA of the USM Haller System. This realization allows us to project ourselves into an ingenious and creative environment, some 60 years after the first prototypes!
Of particular note is the inauguration of the new Silvera Gribeauval space, refurbished by Frédéric Turpin. Designed like an apartment, this new showroom, dressed in electric blue for the event, showcases Baxter products. Let’s hope this new edition is the first in a long line!
