The Greater East Paris region is on a roll! As proof, the 7th edition of the Emergences biennial once again showcased a wealth of local talent from June1 to 4 at the Centre National de la Danse in Pantin.
Art and design professions from the Est Ensemble region were represented by some thirty creative professionals selected by Véronique Maire and Helena Ichbiah, co-curators of In-Situ. Together, they wanted to show the creative process that brought out the links between the different disciplines.
Imagined in six tableaux called studios, this scenography was deployed on three levels of the CND. Pieces exhibited in the color, matter, ornament, purity, manifesto and radical-future studios demonstrated how well this inter-community ecosystem works.
The committed designers, craftsmen and artists, all affiliated with the nine towns of the Est Ensemble territory, shared their universe through drawings, prototypes, samples, creations and other models.
Materra-Matang’s cabinetmaking, Pierre Lapeyronnie’s constructivism, Atelier Noue’s transversality, Hall.Hause’s commitment, Hugo Dubray’s offbeat harmony and Anaïs Beaulieu’s denunciation are just some of the highlights of this biennial event dedicated to craftsmanship and excellence.
This exciting panorama reflects the dynamism of this up-and-coming region.
