Always on the lookout for new talents, Bolia has been organizing its Design Awards since 2007. The Bronco vase, the Latch coffee table, and the Pebble architectural sofa were all born out of this international competition. For this new edition, projects must be submitted before April 19, 2021.
The Bolia Design Awards will be held in the spring. The Danish brand invites new passionate talents, coming from all walks of life, to submit their projects before April 19, 2021. With one imperative: to present projects in line with Bolia’s values of sustainability: The proposals must be timeless in terms of identity, expression and form, but also guarantee a long lifespan and consist of interchangeable parts .
The first prize consists of an endowment of 50,000 Danish crowns (6,700 €). For the public’s prize, valued at DKK 25,000 (€ 3,350), the jury will select eight finalists who will be decided by the public on the brand’s website. Finally, the sustainability award, equal in value to the public award, will recognize a design imbued with sustainability down to the smallest detail.
Participants have until April 19, 2021 to submit up to three different designs. They will have to present their project (s) in the form of drawings, sketches or 3D models, accompanied by a text explaining the genesis of their idea, the choice of materials, as well as how this or these design (s) are produced. ‘fit into the brand’s Scandinavian universe.

The winners will be announced on May 21, 2021. They will be selected according to criteria including durability, the use of certified materials and alternative production methods. The pieces must also be distinguished by a clear identity, functionality and creativity.
