In 2023, the Grands Prix de la création de la ville de Paris will celebrate their 30th anniversary! This is an opportunity to look back on the career of previous winners but also to discover emerging talents through the launch of its annual call for applications, open until May 22.
matali crasset, Ronan Bouroullec, José Lévy, studio Lacoua… Since the creation of the Prize in 1993, 150 designers have been rewarded and have developed on the French and international design scene. For its 30th edition, the Grands Prix de la Création will award seven prizes: 3 Grand Prix, 3 Emerging Talents and 1 Fashion Accessories Prize. To designate the winners of this anniversary edition, three jury presidents were selected: Inga Sempé in the Design category, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac in the Fashion category and Isabelle Stanislas in the Arts and Crafts category.
30 years and seven awards
The three Grand Prizes reward a professional for the quality of his/her project and career path, his/her development strategy, his/her commitment to the transmission of know-how or innovation. These are aimed at experienced professionals and companies and brands in advanced stages of development. The Emerging Talent Awards are intended to reward professionals with a promising project. Finally, the Fashion Accessories prize will be awarded to an emerging or established accessories project (leather goods, shoes, gloves, belts, etc.).
Each of the seven winners will receive an endowment of 18,000 euros: 8,000 euros from the City of Paris and enriched via the Fonds pour les Ateliers de Paris by private partners: the Fédération Française du Prêt à Porter Féminin, ADC, the Galeries Lafayette Group, ESMOD, Plendi by VINCI Construction, Roger Pradier, Victoire, and the Galia Group
A retrospective in September
Several highlights will also punctuate this anniversary edition. Indeed, a retrospective exhibition is already planned during the European Heritage Days in the Salons of the City Hall, on September 16 and 17.
The Grands Prix de la Création are open to all design professionals (product, space, service, culinary, graphic …), fashion (ready to wear, fashion accessories …) and crafts (cabinetmaker, mosaicist, ceramist, glassmaker.ère, jeweler.ère …) throughout France.
