The Casa de Velàzquez, the ADAGP and the Mobilier National are launching a new program to promote the value of wool by opening a research residency “Wool and Creation”. Creators, designers, craftsmen have until March 9, 2pm to apply.
The ADAGP, the Casa de Velàzquez and the Mobilier National have announced a new partnership to promote design in France and Spain. The aim is to participate in the revalorization of European wool know-how and industries, which are faced with the challenge of relocation. A first call for applications has just been launched for a three-month research residency at the Casa de Velàzquez in Madrid. Creators (designers, craftsmen, artists) have until March 9 to submit a research project.
The residency program
The residency will have a total duration of 3 months at Casa de Velázquez in 2023. It will be divided into two periods: from June 1 to July 15 and from September 5 to October 20, 2023;
The winner will receive a grant of €6,000 and €2,000 to create a prototype, as well as transportation from the winner’s home to Madrid.
Also provided will be a studio apartment at Casa de Velázquez, access to the institution’s facilities (engraving and sculpture studio, recording and music studio, library and dining room) and possible participation in the CASA&CO exhibition.
Depending on the schedule, the winner will also be able to benefit from a connection with the Real Fabrica de Tapices in Madrid and access to the material library and the color chart of the National Furniture.
