Since door handles present a significant risk of contamination during Covid-19, the Belgian company Materialize is making files available on its site to 3D print a hands-free door opener.
Founded in 1990, based in Leuven, Materialize is a company specializing in 3D printing. In mid-March, it announced the creation of an accessory for door handles, which does not require drilling holes and which avoids contact with the hands: it allows the doors to be opened and closed using the ‘forearm.
The file containing the plans is available on the company website for those who have a 3D printer, the accessory can of course also be ordered online.
